Find out how the Cantonal Hospital of St. Gallen, one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland with over 5500 employees, has revolutionized its changing rooms with smart locker systems from Gantner.
The new concept, consisting of space-saving, permanently reservable value lockers and time-limited large changing room lockers, is based on a centrally controllable locker locking system. Each locker was equipped with an electronic networked lock from Gantner, which can be conveniently monitored and managed via PC using management software. Not only does this reduce administration to a minimum, it also allows space and room resources to be used much more efficiently. Integrated into the existing access control system of the St. Gallen Cantonal Hospital, the locks are operated directly on the locker using the existing access chip.
The locks are alarm-protected and signal any attempted misuse immediately on the PC and directly on the locker. All lockers can be freely selected by employees and the authorizations are valid for all locations. Small, space-saving lockers can be permanently reserved and locked. They have the function of permanent, personal lockers.
If there is no activity in a permanently occupied locker over a longer period of time, this is signaled in the system. The large lockers are only available for the duration of a working day. Permanent occupancy is not possible.
To clean the lockers, they can be opened automatically and centrally, and thanks to color LED and acoustic signaling, the locks can be operated intuitively and independently of language.
