New Changing Areas with Innovative Solutions from Gantner
There is no doubt that managing a hospital involves significant expenses. The changing room area is one of the costs that require intensive work and could be streamlined through innovative solutions.
The challenge for the University Medical Center, Ljubljana, was that staff changing room lockers were secured with mechanical locks, and managing the keys was a major issue. Keys were frequently forgotten, lost, or broken. Additionally, there was no way to know for sure whether a locker was still in use or if an employee was no longer part of the team. As part of a renovation of this area, the hospital administration decided to apply the same high standards found in the medical areas to the changing rooms.
To address these challenges, the electronic NET.Lock system from Gantner was installed on the first 600 existing changing room lockers. The system is fully controlled via the eLoxx Relaxx software and works with the existing employee cards.
Each locker is assigned directly to an employee, and this information is transferred to the management software via an HR interface. This makes maintenance and administrative tasks easy and efficient. When an employee leaves, the locker is marked as available, and their access is blocked.
Forgotten employee cards are not an issue, as a new card with the same permissions can be issued at any time. Any attempted misuse is immediately flagged in the system. Employees can also check the status of their locker through the GT7 info terminals in the changing rooms.
