Smart Office

Erste Group, one of the largest financial services providers in Central and Eastern Europe, completed the Erste Campus in Vienna after five years of construction. Located at the former site of Vienna’s South and East Railway station, this state-of-the-art complex spans 25,000m² and involved an investment of approximately 300 million Euros. The campus now unites 4,500 employees from over 20 previously scattered locations into a single, highly functional workspace designed to foster collaboration and efficiency.

FIGURES

  • 4,500 employees
  • ~16,500 cabinet operations daily
  • 600 secured mailboxes
  • + 1,000 locker locks

„The contact between Gantner, the project manager and the technicians was easy and constructive throughout the project phase. The project was completed on schedule and the system with its approx. 16,500 daily cabinet perations runs nearly flawlessly.“

Dieter Lang
Head of Security at Erste Campus

THE CHALLENGE

With the transition to a flexible, open-office environment, Erste Group needed a secure, seamless, and easily manageable storage solution for its employees. Traditional keys, PIN codes, and coin-based lockers were impractical for a dynamic workplace where desks were no longer assigned. Additionally, security was paramount, requiring a system that could integrate smoothly into Erste’s central security management while allowing controlled access to mailrooms, staff lockers, and bicycle room wardrobes.

SOLUTION

Gantner provided a cutting-edge, networked cabinet locking system to meet Erste Group’s needs. The GAT NET.Lock 7000 system, managed via the eLoxx Relaxx software, seamlessly integrates with the company’s HR and security systems. Employees can use their staff ID cards to access lockers, eliminating the hassle of lost keys or PIN codes. The solution ensures maximum flexibility, allowing lockers to be used in both "free" and "personal" modes, while also supporting secure mail distribution, cleaning staff wardrobes, and bicycle room storage.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Fully linked with Erste Group’s administration and security systems
  • Alarmed networked locks ensure controlled access and security monitoring
  • Reduces time spent on key management and lost access credentials
  • Supports multiple access modes, including shared and personal lockers
  • 30-minute limits on bicycle room wardrobes maximize availability
  • Adaptable for NFC and scalable for evolving workplace needs
