Smart Office

Reece has been supplying the products that make beautiful bathrooms for over 100 years. But their sights are firmly set on the future, with a 2030 vision to be ‘the trade’s most valuable partner’ and a strategy that focuses heavily on innovation.

In April 2022, Reece moved into ‘The Works’ - a modern, purpose-built Head Office in Cremorne, a part of Melbourne that attracts so many digital and high-tech businesses that it’s become known as ‘The Silicon Yarra’.

“I would definitely recommend the Salto system in any hotel,
because it’s so easy for guests to use,
and it has such a beautiful design.”

THE CHALLENGE

Reece’s vision was for ‘The Works’ to truly enable a modular and hybrid approach to work, recognising the role that great workplaces play in attracting and retaining great staff and reflecting Reece’s commitment to innovation.

Beth Yarrington, Workplace Experience Manager at ‘The Works’ explains: ‘The building was designed and created to be an agile working space that supports flexible working.’

Reece’s head office staff want a blend of working from home and coming into the office, many want to get to work by bike or public transport, and they want to be able to leave items in the office so they can truly switch off when they’re at home, for a better work-life balance.

SOLUTION

Reece has addressed workplace needs by installing over 800 Gantner networked lockers across seven floors of ‘The Works.’ Staff use keycards or wristband fobs to access lockers electronically, eliminating the need for keys or codes. The workplace team manages the lockers from a central console and can open them remotely if needed.

There are two types of lockers:

  • Personal lockers: are assigned to individuals for storing items like lunch, personal effects, or laptops. Even non-office staff have access when visiting.
  • Dynamic lockers: are for shared use, often for gym gear or bike helmets, and can be used in addition to personal lockers.

The workplace team can also open lockers remotely if a staff member is working from home. Gantner lockers support hybrid work, healthy lifestyles, and work-life balance, aligning with Reece’s values and enhancing the workplace environment.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Easy to install and simple for the workplace team to oversee.
